* Color Palettes from Nature *

My friend told me how he would create color palettes based completely on tree bark. My first reaction was that after a while, you'd keep getting the same colors. But, I took these two photos and was able to create two different color palettes. I'd love to do more of these with other natural elements.

* Berkeley Rose Gardens *

I recently moved to the East Bay in California. I arrived less than a week ago, with nothing more than a suitcase and a place to crash until I found an apartment of my own. The process has been disorienting and uncomfortable in many ways, but overall the experience of finally being here is exhilarating and exciting. There is so much beauty out here, and so much to explore. I wandered around the Berkeley rose garden, just as the roses were in bloom.

* On My Day Off *

I rarely have full days off from work, so I try to make the most of the ones I have. Plus, with this crazy warm weather for New England, it seems the perfect time to go for bike rides by the ocean.

I think about the things I'll miss once I move out west, and freezing cold bike rides by the atlantic ocean are oddly one of them. Although once I take really warm bike rides by the pacific ocean, I might get over it pretty quickly.

* Little Visitors *

At two different times today, 9am and 5pm, two little baby deer were outside our house nibbling away at the edge of our lawn. They were so cute! I just wanted to share some pictures of them.
