* Oh My Goodness *

Where have I been? Well, I actually have spent the past few weeks of non-blog posts interviewing for and accepting a new job! And then looking for and getting a new apartment!

Needless to say, I am so relieved that 2011 has been quite a change from 2010.

I spent a good 2 hours today at Target just looking around at apartment stuff. My brain has been going a million miles an hour thinking about my new place; where things would go, what I need to get, what my color palette is going to be. I'm a huge planning dork. It is one of my personality traits that can be very fun, but also restricting.

I've spent the last few sleepless nights drawing decorating ideas all over my sketchbook.

* More Snow? *

This has been the 3rd blizzard/snow/wintry mix fest in about a week. Now I see why I didn't have a car for so many years.

New England winter is not the best time to be interviewing in the city. My solution is to always have a spare brush and a change of shoes in an extra bag. And, always leave at least 30 minutes earlier than you think is reasonable. Snow in the city means delays when you least expect it.

* Projects for 2011 *

I have organized the small corner of the guest room that I refer to as my "sewing station". I've also recently collected a bunch more fabric and have started on some new projects for the upcoming year. 2011 here I come!

Here are some peeks...

* Blizzard *

Staying in on a blizzard-y day is one of my favorite things to do. Warm fire, interesting book, munchies nearby...nothing better. This day I happened to venture outside to try to shovel out my car a bit. Here are some pictures (I didn't stay out too long).

* DIY Scarf Restyle *

I have become a fan of the infinity scarf, which allows you to easily wear a scarf without it flying away in the wind, or slapping you in the face accidentally. Instead of going out and buying a bunch of new scarves, I decided to revamp an old scarf to function like the infinity scarf.

For this Do-It-Yourself you'll need: scarf, buttons, scissors, needle & thread.

1. Sew the buttons on one end of the scarf spaced out evenly.

2. On the opposite end of the scarf, cut button holes with scissors. Make sure you line them up correctly so the buttons fit in easily.

3. Wrap the scarf around your neck, and button the end.

Now your scarf won't fly away, and you'll have a unique looking scarf!

* Outfitted *

I felt like mixing textures a bit, so I grabbed a lacy dress and cardigan and matched it with some sparkly blue tights and thick leg warmers (necessary for winter).

* Life is Hard *

Just wanted to leave you with this picture of my cat caught sleeping atop a mountain of warm laundry.
